Our specialism is hand-painting kitchen cupboards and doors. We can transform any type of kitchen be it dark oak or knotty orange pine, laminated/vinyl wrapped, a re-paint of an older painted kitchen or the first paint of a pre-primed or bare-wood kitchen.
Recently, we've painted new, fresh out of the box, Howden style kitchens to give a bespoke look at the fraction of the cost of going to a designer kitchen company. We've also painted bespoke hand-made kitchens from both local joiners/carpenters and also national companies such as Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch.
The beauty of a painted kitchen lies in its enduring versatile style and its capacity to adapt to a range of surrounding. Painted cabinetry has the ability to visually enhance proportion – injecting light and space into darker rooms or by contrast, adding a sense of comfort and warmth to larger open-plan areas. Colour can also be used to zone a space. Contrasting hues are particularly effective for feature areas such as islands or dressers.
For a sophisticated ambience light grey and stone hues, emulating the natural world around us, are a growing trend and should prove timeless. However, shades of cream continue to dominate due to their ability to anchor a scheme and emphasise the crisp, fresh look.
For those concerned about durability, a good-quality paint finish is extremely robust and as a general rule, the more layers of good quality paint, the more resilient the finish. Here at Holbeton Painting, all kitchens have 4-5 layers of specialist primers and top coats applied, to give a silky-smooth surface. The specialist paint can be matched to any paint chart so you are free to be as creative as you dare!
